Please note…

  • Be sure to review our Inclement Weather Policy.

  • The last day of the 2021-2022 school year will be Friday, May 27.

  • Information about graduation will be sent home the first week in May. Graduation is for the children that will be attending Kindergarten this coming Fall.

  • It is especially important that if your child is experiencing fever, fatigue, headache, cough, nasal congestion, a new loss of taste or smell, or sore throat that they be kept home for at least 48 hours after the symptoms have subsided. If any family member have been exposed to COVID please let us know so that we can take necessary precautions. In advance, thank you for your cooperation.

  • Be sure to like the Kinderfarm Facebook page. Photos are posted frequently.

  • Be sure to check your child’s classroom newsletter every week as they contain information pertinent to that classroom.

  • PLEASE! PLEASE DO NOT EMAIL ABSENCES OR CHANGES IN YOUR CHILD’S SCHEDULE! Internet in the country can be unreliable. Sometimes we do not get emailed messages until several hours or even days after they have been sent.

  • Please remember to apply sunscreen before your child comes to school each day. Sunscreen will be re-applied on children that attend all day and have a signed permission form on file. Please contact us if you need a permission form. The Iowa Department of Human Services considers sunscreen a drug and therefore it cannot be within reach of the children.

  • Please do not send water bottles or sunscreen in your child’s back pack. Drinking water and cups are available at all times at Kinderfarm.

  • If your child is going to be absent from Kinderfarm please call Kinderfarm at 351-3438. Kinderfarm does have voicemail so feel free to call anytime day or night.

  • Please! Please! Please! Label your child’s belongings with his/her name! Our lost and found continues to grow! When items are labeled it makes it so much easier for us to get them back to their rightful owner.

  • Daily outside time is part of the Kinderfarm curriculum. If your child’s health does not allow them to go outside to participate in chore time and playground time, they should be kept home.

  • Your child will need to wear chore shoes or boots when visiting the animals and playing outside on the playground. They need to bring slippers or other shoes in their backpack to wear indoors. We want to keep as much sand and other muck outside and off the carpet.

  • Feel free to send in stale bread or cereal, stale crackers, apples, carrots, or other vegetables for the animals. The children love sharing these treats with the animals almost as much as the animals like eating them! Please note that our rabbits are not allowed to eat anything green. In other words, no lettuce, celery, cabbage, green beans, broccoli, etc. Eating green vegetables can cause severe diarrhea and even death.

  • Please do not park along the split rail fence next to the playground. Those spaces are reserved for the Kinderfarm vans. Parking is also not permitted anywhere in the circle drive or next to the gas tank and dumpster. Parking is permitted on the south side of the garage behind the staff vehicles, on the gravel north of the circle drive, and on the gravel area across from the pig stall. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

  • For liability reasons families are not to visit or feed any of the animals before or after Kinderfarm school hours. All time spent with the animals must be done with the supervision of a Kinderfarm staff member.

  • Children should not wear jewelry to Kinderfarm. Rings, bracelets, watches, and necklaces will no longer be permitted as they are easily lost and have even been known to go down the bathroom sink. :(. In advance, thank you for your cooperation.

  • Parents must come on to the playground to retrieve their child. Children are not allowed to go outside of the fence, into the driveway to greet their parents.

  • If you would like to send birthday treats in honor of your child’s birthday, we ask that you call at least one week ahead of time to make arrangements. Food allergies and classroom activites need to be addressed before plans to bring treats can be made. In advance, thank you for your cooperation.

  • Children may be dropped off for the before school program beginning at 7:30 AM. Children may be dropped off beginning at 8:45 AM for the preschool program. Classes dismiss at 11:30 AM and 3:30 PM. The after school program ends at 5:30 PM. A fee will be charged for late pick ups. The fee is $5 for every five minutes past the scheduled pick up time. Habitual late pick ups may result in termination of a child’s enrollment.

  • Receipts for tuition payments are due upon request.
