If you would like your child to participate in their class card exchange consult each newsletter of each class that your child is a member of for the number of cards you will need to send. If your child attends Kinderfarm full day you will need valentines cards for their morning and afternoon classes. PLEASE DO NOT HAVE YOUR CHILD ADDRESS EACH CARD. Send the appropriate number of cards for each class that your child attends with his/her name signed on each card.
- Parent/teacher conferences are scheduled all day February 28 and in the evenings on March 8 and March 28. If you are interested in scheduling a conference please call Kinderfarm at 351-3438 to arrange a time. Conferences generally last approximately twenty minutes and we ask that you leave your Kinderfarmer and siblings home during the conference.

- Registration materials for summer/fall 2012 will be sent home to families of children currently enrolled at Kinderfarm the week of January 23. Open registration will begin February 1, 2012. If your child is not currently enrolled at Kinderfarm and you would like registration materials for summer/fall 2012 please give us a call at (319) 351-3438 on/after January 23 and we will be happy to send the materials out to you.
- It is not too late to register your child at Kinderfarm! Afternoon spaces are still available. Please call for more information.
- Colder weather means heavier coats, boots, and soon, snow pants. There is simply not enough room in the coatroom to keep everything. Therefore, backpacks are now being kept in the classrooms not in the coatroom. If you bring your child to school ask them to show you the backpack bin in their classroom.
- Please click here for the Kinderfarm Inclement Weather Policy.
- If your child wears rain boots or snow boots to school please send a pair of shoes or slippers for your child to wear indoors. Boots cannot be worn in the building. If you send slippers with your child be sure to label both slippers with his/her name.
- For safety reasons on the playground, please do NOT send your child to Kinderfarm wearing a scarf.
- Parents must come on to the playground to retrieve their child. Children are not allowed to go outside of the fence, into the driveway to greet their parents.
- If you would like to send birthday treats in honor of your child's birthday, we ask that you call at least one week ahead of time to make arrangements. Food allergies and classroom activites need to be addressed before plans to bring treats can be made. In advance, thank you for your cooperation.
- The temperature at Kinderfarm tends to be about 10-15 degrees cooler than in town. Please make sure your child has a jacket each time they come to school. As the temperatures get even cooler it would be a good idea to send a hat and gloves or mittens with your child as well.
- If your child is going to be absent from Kinderfarm please call Kinderfarm at 351-3438. Kinderfarm does have voicemail so feel free to call anytime day or night. DO NOT send messages concerning absences via email.
- If you will be bringing and/or picking up your child, please be sure to sign your child in/out on the clipboard in the coatroom.
- Please do not park along the split rail fence next to the playground. Those spaces are reserved for the Kinderfarm vans. Parking is also not permitted anywhere in the circle drive or next to the gas tank and dumpster. Parking is permitted on the south side of the garage behind the staff vehicles, on the gravel north of the circle drive, and on the gravel area across from the pig stall. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
- Please do not send water bottles with your child. Water and cups are provided for the children to use as needed.
- Feel free to send in stale bread or cereal, stale crackers, apples, carrots, or other vegetables for the animals. The children love sharing these treats with the animals almost as much as the animals like eating them! Please note that our rabbits are not allowed to eat anything green. In other words, no lettuce, celery, cabbage, green beans, broccoli, etc. Eating green vegetables can cause severe diarrhea and even death.
- Children may be dropped off between 8:45 and 9:00. The building is locked until 8:45 so the teachers may prepare for the day. Classes dismiss at 11:30 and 3:30. A fee will be charged for late pick-ups. The building is locked again at 3:30.
- For liability reasons families are not to visit or feed any of the animals before or after Kinderfarm school hours. All time spent with the animals must be done with the supervision of a Kinderfarm staff member.
- Receipts for tuition payments are due upon request.
- Be sure to check out the 2011-2012 calendar for important dates!
